Invertiel Developments Limited is a joint venture between Macdonald Estates plc and J Smart & Co (Contractors) Plc. This partnership has been formed to promote the former B&Q and surrounding land at Invertiel for development where J Smart & Co have extensive landholdings.
Invertiel Developments have appointed a team of professional consultants to prepare an indicative masterplan vision for Invertiel and a Planning Application for Phase 1 has now been submitted to Fife Council for a proposed supermarket. A major retailer is expected to be announced shortly to anchor the proposed development. The Phase 1 supermarket proposal will act as a catalyst for further regeneration of Invertiel, Linktown and Esplanade West.

Set up in 1950 by Mr J Smart and later listed on the Stock Exchange in 1965, J. Smart & Co (Contractors) Plc has over 50 years of property related experience. The company is based in Edinburgh with a subsidiary Civil Engineering company in Kirkcaldy
